Support survivors of gender-based violence in Nigeria

This June, we are raising funds to make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors of gender-based violence in Nigeria.

While the world's attention often gravitates towards acute crises, it's imperative to remember ongoing emergencies like the recent surge of kidnappings in Nigeria. In the last decade, there have been over 4,500 abductions, amongst them over 1,500 of school children. Many are forced into marriages, others are made into slaves.

When we learned that those who manage to escape are often rejected by their communities, seen as tainted by the enemy, we knew we had to step in. However, the need is immense, and we cannot do it alone.

Through our partnership with the Nigerian organization, Neem Foundation, we have trained 13 mental health clinicians to deliver vital psychological support to survivors to recover from their trauma and reclaim their lives.

These facilitators have already formed therapy groups for over 70 survivors – women, girls and men. Now they need your support to run therapy sessions: funds to travel to remote areas, to secure safe spaces and to organize safe childcare for mothers as they attend their therapy.

Your generous gift will assure that we can continue to provide programs and services and expand our work around the world. Please make a tax-deductible donation to support our work. We are grateful to accept your Donor Advised Fund contribution. Please send DAF checks to the address and EIN below.
