Raising Awareness, Building Solidarity

In 2023, the Laurie M Tisch Illumination Fund hosted an exhibition of story cloths made by CTP participants around the world. 

The textiles displayed are storytellers, messengers. They convey unspeakable suffering with power and immediacy. While they do not spare us the depth of their pain, they also bring us into the fullness of the lives of their makers.

The New York exhibit invited visitors to bear witness and respond to these stories.

As one of the story cloths in the exhibition states,"When one woman speaks, she speaks for others who have been silenced. When one woman reacts, she does it for so many others who are still suffering."
